Sunham Home Fashions

new york, ny

Sunham Home Fashions is one of the largest importers of textiles in the United States. We were asked to create the relocated global headquarters in a midtown full-floor loft space. The front half acts as a clear, polished volume to showcase products for seasonal markets two to three times per year. Open span ceilings, robust track lighting, tall rolling display fixtures and adjustable wall-hung hanging rods all provide the flexibility to redesign and highlight the new offerings. The reception area is carved out of the showroom as a discrete niche with a folded slab of Thasos marble. Two paths of polished concrete connect the showroom to the back half office areas. Full height glazed storefront and clerestory glazing between perimeter office walls carry natural light well into the central communal work spaces. Supporting program includes a marble clad bar & pantry for client entertaining and a well appointed sewing room for quick on-site production of new styles.
