Umberto Freddi

Architectural design / project manager

Umberto is Italian architectural designer who started practicing in Milan as Head Designer and Project Manager for a local studio. In 2003, he was invited by Nathan H. Shapira, Emeritus Professor of Industrial Design and Interior Design at UCLA, to present his projects in Los Angeles. This led to joining the design team as co-author for the 1,5 million SF competition project of the “New Seat of the Lombardy Region”, led by Frank O. Gehry. In September 2004, he co-founded the architectural office studio Ellisse in Milan, working on various scaled projects in Europe and the Middle East. Recent projects include a new pre-fab system, US retail stores and residential renovations in Berlin.
